Some technical notes about Paquet Builder and its packages.

System requirements for Paquet Builder

A good configuration is recommended if you plan to create large packages, especially if they contain a big number of files.

Minimal configuration:

  • 256MB RAM (even 1 GB if you want to use 7-Zip with high levels of compression).

  • Microsoft Windows 10, 8.1, 8, Windows 7, Windows XP SP3, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, 2012 Server. 32-bit or x64.

  • 128MB RAM (or higher)

  • Microsoft Windows 10, 8.1, 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, 2012 Server, 2000. 32-bit or x64.

Package Size limit

Paquet Builder 2021 supports creating Self-Extracting packages up to 4 GB, but larger archive files (without SFX functionality) can be created.

4 GB is the size limit for EXE files on Windows.

A workaround is available: you can create a Self-Extracting multi-volume archive.
