Environment Options

The Environment Options dialog allows you to configure global settings for Paquet Builder, including default settings, directories, and folder favorites. You can access this dialog via the "Tools | Environment Options" menu command.

General Options

  • Save my custom dimensions of the navigation panels:
Saves and restores manually resized navigation panel dimensions. Useful for systems where default panel sizes may hide some options.

  • Display the compilation log immediately when building packages:
Shows the log being filled during the compilation process. Ensure the compilation log option is also enabled.

  • Do not show automatic update notification messages:
Suppresses update messages when folder-linked components are live-updated.

  • Include sub-folders:
Determines whether subdirectories are included when adding a folder or wildcard mask to the file list.

  • Remove obsolete or non-existing files during live updates:
Automatically removes missing files from file lists during live-update.

  • File manager: check if a file being added is not already in the list:
Prevents duplicate files in the file list. Disabling this option can speed up adding files but requires manual duplicate handling.

  • Reduce color format of auto-generated bitmaps to 8bpp:
Converts generated bitmaps from icons to 8bpp (256 colors) to save space. Disable this for higher-quality images but larger package sizes.

  • Do not show "Getting Started" tip when creating projects:
Disables the Getting Started tutorial displayed at project creation.

  • Do not show Windows notifications after build:
Suppresses system notifications after a build completes.

UI Theme

Choose between the light or dark theme for Paquet Builder. On Windows 10, the theme defaults to the system setting.

Default Settings

  • Company Name: Enter your name or company name.
  • E-Mail Address: Provide your contact email for end users.
  • Web Homepage: Enter the URL for your website.
  • Default Copyright: Set default copyright text for your packages.

Select the default language and icon files for new projects.

Code Signing

Configure options for code signing in this section. For details, see the code signing topic.

The signing utility requires an Internet connection for timestamping. You can specify URLs for the Authenticode-compatible and RFC-3161-compatible timestamp servers or use the defaults provided by Paquet Builder.

Directories

  • Paquet Builder Working Folder:
Specify a temporary folder for Paquet Builder to use when compiling projects. This is useful for systems with limited space in the default temporary folder.

  • Use Paquet Builder default folders as initial directories:
Sets initial directories to Paquet Builder’s default folders (e.g., C:\Program Files\Paquet Builder\Resources) when selecting resources like bitmaps, icons, and AVI files.

  • Set the project path as default when loading a project:
Saves the project path as the default for related resources (e.g., icons, archive files). When loading a project, this path will be used as the default for open dialogs.
